Both writers and painters are artists, but they use different mediums to express their thoughts. The former writes, while the latter paints. To convey messages, the writer uses words, sentences, punctuation marks, and spaces. That particular writer may use a book and a pen, or a computer with or without a keyboard, or even a Smartphone equipped with a note-taking tool. On the other hand, the individual painter paints and uses paints, brushes, a palette for mixing colours, and a canvas or a painting surface. But both artists have one commonality: to express what they feel and make that feeling understandable and engaging to their audiences.

In the sphere of writing fiction, the particular fiction writer journeys with a main character (hero/ protagonist) and reveals that character’s condition to an audience. Similarly, the painter chooses a portrait of someone or a group of people and visually depicts their condition to an audience. Irrespective of the mediums they use, writers and painters generate similar messages that can have profound effects, although visual messages are always more impactful than written messages.

Both painting and writing express emotions, enhance communication, and improve memory. People read and view things to get insights or solace. Reading books and viewing illustrative paintings are both remedy and rejuvenating routes. People read or view paintings to get enlightened, entertained, or discharged of some pressures. They may find themselves in similar situations to what they read or see, enabling them to stomach what they undergo. And that is one reason people read novels, watch movies, and watch hand-painted depictions of people or places.
Writers and painters use varied mediums to craft messages, but their intents are the same: to express emotions and impart information and insights to their particular audiences. Each artist strives to germinate ideas and generate messages irrespective of their effects, be they enthralling or agonizing.
